But one of the biggest problems with WhatsApp is how fast it collects data — files, photos, and videos — that, if accumulated, can take up your phone’s storage and slow down your device. Click here to use WhatsApp Cleaner to remove unwanted WhatsApp files:

WhatsApp Gifs Remove
The best way to clear out those excess files is by using WhatsApp Cleaner. The Cleaner will help you get rid of videos, GIFs, images, and audio messages you don’t need anymore. It will show you how much space your WhatsApp files are taking up, so you’ll see how much room you’ll free up by removing old files. It also lets you select which files — and from which date — you want to delete, so you can hold onto any files you want to keep. While WhatsApp Cleaner is the most efficient way to clear out your WhatsApp files, there is another method for clearing this app’s cache.

Clearing WhatsApp Data Manually

 1. Make sure to backup your WhatsApp folders to your computer using a USB data cord, in case you delete a file you didn’t mean to delete.
 2. Navigate to your SD card in your phone’s file manager. This is where your WhatsApp data will be stored.
 3. There, open the WhatsApp folder.
 4. From there, open the Media subfolder.
 5. In that subfolder, you will find many kinds of media files that you might generate using WhatsApp. These include wallpaper, voice notes, audio, images, and video, among other file folders.
 6. To delete files, you need to open the folder in which you have unwanted data. You will need to click each piece of data to delete it. If you want to delete multiple items, you can click more than one file at a time. You can also delete images and video from WhatsApp by navigating to your Android gallery and selecting the files you want to be deleted.

As you can see, the simplest and most efficient way of clearing WhatsApp data is by using WhatsApp Cleaner. Rather than consistently having to take these steps to clear your cache manually, use WhatsApp Cleaner to regularly remove files before they pile up and slow down your phone.

<![CDATA[Why Does WhatsApp Save Every Single Picture You Receive?]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/whatsapp-save-every-single-picture-receive/ Fri, 19 May 2017 19:00:48 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=11263 WhatsApp saves all of the photos you receive by automatically downloading them to your phone’s gallery. While this ensures that you’ll never miss a photo, this feature also eats up a lot of your phone’s memory. To get rid of photos and video you no longer want to keep, use WhatsApp Cleaner. The Cleaner creates more storage space on your phone by helping you delete photos you no longer want to keep. Click here to make more room on your phone:

clean-whatsapp-photos
If you want to remove all WhatsApp files — in addition to photos — to free up space on your device, WhatsApp Cleaner will allow you to quickly do so. WhatsApp Cleaner will also allow you to select which files you want to remove, so that you can keep an occasional photo or two.

But why does WhatsApp insist on saving all of these photos? According to WhatsApp, photos are saved so that users can have quick access to their latest photos. This is certainly true; but if WhatsApp saving your photos has become more trouble than it’s worth, turn off photo-saving with these simple steps below.

How to Stop Downloads of Pictures

 1. Navigate to WhatsApp and click on the three dots on the right-hand corner of the screen to go to the app’s “Settings.”
 2. From there, click on “Chat settings” and then “Media auto-download.”
 3. Under “Media auto-download,” you’ll see three options: “When using cellular data,” “When connected on Wi-Fi,” and “When roaming.”
 4. If you never want WhatsApp to auto-download, tap on each of these three options and then uncheck the “Images” box next to each one. You can also uncheck “Video” if you want to stop WhatsApp from downloading videos.

How to Stop WhatsApp from Saving Photos to Your Phone’s Gallery

Note: This will not stop WhatsApp from saving your photos to your phone’s gallery; instead, it will hide your WhatsApp photos in your gallery.

 1. Download a file explorer for WhatsApp from the Google Play Store.
 2. Navigate to WhatsApp. Once there, open “Media” and then “WhatsApp Images.”
 3. In “WhatsApp Images,” create a file called “.nomedia.”
 4. If you wish to display your photos in your gallery, delete the file and your photos will again be displayed in your gallery.

WhatsApp’s automatic photo-saving can ensure that you’ll never miss a photo. But it also means that your WhatsApp photos can take up too much space on your phone. To keep WhatsApp’s file-saving manageable, be sure to regularly use WhatsApp Cleaner — and perhaps turn off WhatsApp’s photo-saving feature altogether.

<![CDATA[How to Automatically Delete Old WhatsApp Photos]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/automatically-delete-old-whatsapp-photos/ Sat, 13 May 2017 19:00:45 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=11020 It’s always risky to make assumptions, but the odds are good that WhatsApp is downloaded on your phone. In 2017, the popular SMS app reported having 1.2 billion active monthly users around the world. There is, however, one drawback to using WhatsApp. The app can be a quite a storage hog, and can take up valuable space on your device. That’s why you should use DFNDR’s WhatsApp Cleaner to make some room your device. Click here to let WhatsApp Cleaner remove old, unnecessary files:

clean-whatsapp-photos
WhatsApp Cleaner is the answer to your woes. Instead of ruthlessly deleting all your old photos and videos, DFNDR’s feature gives you choices. As the user, you can select a timespan of files you want to remove. For instance, you can specifically delete media from July 1st, 2016 to September 30th, 2016. There is also an option to efficiently select exactly which WhatsApp photos and videos to keep. While you’re cleaning up, DFNDR helpfully shows the amount of storage you’re saving by deleting files. It’s just that simple! The following will explain why WhatsApp can take up so much on your device and how you can remedy this issue.

WhatsApp is Popular and User-Friendly

WhatsApp is a convenient way to send texts, photos, and videos to friends and family — regardless of where they live. You can even make long-distance calls for free! That’s because WhatsApp uses a Wi-Fi connection for communication, as opposed to running up your phone bill or using your precious data. Of course, you need to first connect your Android to the Internet to take advantage of WhatsApp’s features.

How WhatsApp Eats Up Your Storage Space

You’re probably wondering what’s going on with the app growing in size, or even thinking of deleting your WhatsApp app entirely because of this issue. But hold that overeager finger! The problem and its solution are both very straightforward. Essentially, if you haven’t switched off the “Auto Download” setting, WhatsApp is saving every photo and video you receive.

Like most users, you probably receive a lot of silly memes and funny selfies from your contacts. These files are entertaining at the time, but there’s no reason to keep them forever. Indeed, over time, the photos and videos will accumulate, taking up increasing amounts of storage and even slowing down your device. Now, you could go into your Android and delete the entire media folder for WhatsApp, but WhatsApp Cleaner is a better, faster, and more user-friendly way of revitalizing the app.

Those mountains of GIF videos will quickly add up. Add in your emojis and text-covered images, your audio files, and the rest of your basic GIFs, and you could have one huge mess on your hands. Fortunately, there is a better way to handle the mass amounts of media that are so easy to accumulate on WhatsApp. Use the WhatsApp Cleaner to remove old files from WhatsApp that are taking up unnecessary space on your device:

Or, open your dfndr app and click on “Tools.” Then, choose “Clean WhatsApp.” Select which files, and from which date, you want to permanently delete. Choose audio, video, images, or GIFs. Click “Delete Selected Files” and watch way more space appear.

New Updates to WhatsApp
WhatsApp has had a slew of massive updates in a relatively short amount of time. The biggest updates to the app have included video-calling, voicemail, a huge selection of new emojis, Google Drive backups, end-to-end encryption, and the end of the subscription. Just a couple of months ago, WhatsApp released an update that bore a similar resemblance to Instagram Stories and Snapchat. It was the ability to draw, write on, or add emojis to both your images and your video. All the contacts you allowed were able to check out the status design.

Now, however, there’s another WhatsApp update. This time it enables users more customization with the chance to convert video into GIFs. You can turn your videos into a GIF, then share them with your pals, and search for them on Giphy. It’s a hilarious new feature that is getting everyone talking, laughing, and sharing more GIFs.

First, you can take your videos and make them into GIFs. It’s easy. First, tap on your camera icon while you are in a conversation. Then, record a six-second video and click “OK.” After the video-trimming page appears, click on the video camera button on the upper right and it will change it to a GIF for you that’s ready to send.

Now, GIFs can be shared from Giphy or via Tenor. You’ll find the option when you tap the emoji button. After you select the GIF option, you’ll see plenty of options. GIF shares are evenly divided between both services.

The first rollout wasn’t without its problems, however. There wasn’t any Gboard GIF support. Finally, thanks to this recent WhatsApp beta, it has also been taken care of. Now you can send those GIFs with Gboard’s GIF panel.

<![CDATA[WhatsApp vs. Instagram: Who Has the Edge in Photo Quality?]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/whatsapp-vs-instagram-edge-photo-quality/ Sat, 22 Apr 2017 14:00:42 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=10348 You love to snap images. You take pictures of your friends, your family, your dog, and you’ve been known to upload more than the occasional selfie. Chances are, you’ve shared plenty of images on WhatsApp. All of the files WhatsApp collects over time can really slow down your app. Removing old files from WhatsApp will improve the performance of your app and free up storage space on your device. That way, you’ll have more space for more photos. Click here to quickly remove old photos and files with WhatsApp Cleaner:

Which Service is Better for Sharing Photos?
Instagram is dedicated to photo-sharing. It is built on the premise of people who love to take and share their images. They include image filters so that each user can customize their photo with filters that range from Clarendon to Gingham to black and white filters and more. You can choose which filters you want to show up in your options so you don’t need to scroll through the expansive list each time.

Read More: 6 Best Apps for Successful Selfies

But it doesn’t stop there. After you are done tweaking your image using a filter, you can then write text to go along with the image. You can describe what you were doing, where you were, and who you were with. Then, add in hashtags to make it easy for other Instagram users to see more of the same activity. For example, if you were posting an image featuring the sunset on a beach, you might include hashtags like #beach #sunset #florida #summer to grow your following and build a network of like-minded fans.

Because this is a social app where images rule, Instagram recommends these tips to have the best photo quality:

 • Download the most recent version of the Instagram app.
 • Upload a photo with a width of at least 1080 pixels with an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 4:5.
 • Make sure you’re using a phone with a high-quality camera as different phones have cameras of varying qualities.

WhatsApp, on the other hand, isn’t dedicated to your images in the same manner. It’s a chatting and messaging app first so the emphasis isn’t placed on making your images the best, or sharing with a wide audience. Although they provide a built-in camera so you don’t need to leave the app to snap a selfie, and while your images will upload fast (even with a slow connection), it’s about sharing with people you already know. Sharing photos on WhatsApp might be a better option if you want to share photos casually with friends and family only, but when it comes to the better quality photo app, Instagram certainly has the edge.

<![CDATA[WhatsApp Ending Support for Windows Phone 7 Devices]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/whatsapp-ending-support-windows-phone-7-devices/ Wed, 19 Apr 2017 18:00:04 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=10147 Chatting giant WhatsApp recently announced the end of Windows Phone 7 support. At the time, they also mentioned ending support for other devices in an official document as well. If your phone isn’t one of the ones affected by this change (see the list below), chances are it could still stand to feel like new again. WhatsApp makes it easy to amass large amounts of files. These files are likely taking up way too much space on your phone, which will cause your phone to slow down. Use dfndr security’s WhatsApp Cleaner to start removing old, unwanted files from the app:

clean-whatsapp-photos

To use WhatsApp Cleaner, click the link above or else open the dfndr security app. Then, go to “Tools” and then select the “Clean WhatsApp” feature. Decide which files you actually want to keep, but resist the temptation to keep the rest of them. You can choose to remove old photos, videos, GIFs, or audio files. Click “Delete Selected Files” to remove the individual files that you no longer wish to have on your device. Every file chosen for inclusion will be deleted from your phone. It will definitely give you more room on your phone — and improve your phone’s performance, too.

Why WhatsApp Ended Windows Phone 7 Support
It’s been 7 years since WhatsApp began. In that time, the company looked at their work as a whole, determining where they wanted to concentrate their focus in the years to come. The official statement, as released by WhatsApp on the WhatsApp blog, shared that they would cease support for the following phones at the end of 2016.

 • BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
 • Nokia S40
 • Nokia Symbian S60
 • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
 • Windows Phone 7

Some of those items listed above have changed. WhatsApp did include an official update to extend support for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, and Nokia Symbian S60 until June 30, 2017.

Here’s what WhatsApp had to say about the decision: “When we started WhatsApp in 2009, people’s use of mobile devices looked very different from today. The Apple App Store was only a few months old. About 70 percent of smartphones sold at the time had operating systems offered by BlackBerry and Nokia. Mobile operating systems offered by Google, Apple, and Microsoft — which account for 99.5 percent of sales today — were on less than 25 percent of mobile devices sold at the time.”

Now, WhatsApp will put their energies towards the technology that people are actually using in large numbers. WhatsApp recommends a phone upgrade ahead of the deadline for WhatsApp users who want to continue with uninterrupted service.

<![CDATA[WhatsApp Celebrates Its 8th Birthday With New Status Feature]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/whatsapp-celebrates-8th-birthday-new-status-feature/ Wed, 05 Apr 2017 14:00:37 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=9529 At the end of February, WhatsApp celebrated its 8th birthday by issuing a new update to their popular messaging app. This update adds a new status feature that allows you to add videos to your status. It is similar to Snapchat and Instagram’s story features, where you can share clips or video or photos with your friends. The new update to WhatsApp is just over 30MB — a decent-sized update for the new feature.

Before you update the app, make sure that you have enough space on your device for app and software updates, in addition to new apps, files, and photos. Many social networking apps, and messaging apps like WhatsApp, bloat in size over time because of all of the data they collect and store. To prepare for the update, clean out your WhatsApp app with dfndr security’s WhatsApp Cleaner. Doing so will remove old, unwanted files so that you have more space on your device. If you want to keep any old files, though, you can still do so — you can specifically select which files you want to remove from your phone. Click here to remove old, unwanted files from WhatsApp:

Another Way to Keep in Touch With Friends and Family
Unlike Snapchat and Instagram, the feature is only available to your WhatsApp contacts — other WhatsApp users that you don’t know can’t see your status updates. You can share your status updates with select individuals or all of your contacts. Since WhatsApp originally started as a way for you to keep in touch with friends and family — especially if they’re spread out over many countries — this new status feature is a great way to celebrate their birthday. It gives you a more personal way to stay in touch with others.

What Does the Status Update Offer?
Previously, you were only able to add text to your WhatsApp status update. Now, you can add photos, videos, and GIFs to better express yourself. You can share videos up to 45 seconds long — a serious improvement from other video-sharing apps. Similar to Snapchat and Instagram, your status updates only last a certain amount of time. After 24 hours, your WhatsApp status will disappear. This is meant to encourage you to constantly update your status. If anyone responds to your status update, you’ll see it in a private message, not a public comment chain. Further, like the rest of WhatsApp’s offerings, all of your status updates will feature end-to-end encryption.

<![CDATA[How to Use WhatsApp’s Version of Snapchat]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/use-whatsapps-version-snapchat/ Sun, 02 Apr 2017 16:00:40 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=9448 WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. It offers end-to-end encryption, in addition to all of the in-demand messaging features such as video-sharing, GIFs, emojis, stickers, and more. However, WhatsApp can collect a lot of data very quickly — because of all of these features — which can cause the app to bloat and take up more space on your phone.

That’s why it’s important to use dfndr’s WhatsApp Cleaner regularly to clean out the app by discarding old and unwanted files. Doing so will help to free up space on your phone for new photos, apps, and more. WhatsApp Cleaner will even show you exactly how much space you can save by removing old files. You can choose which files, and from which date, you want to remove. That way, you won’t delete any old files that you want to keep on the app. Click here to start removing old WhatsApp files:

WhatsApp Status
Facebook and Instagram have already introduced Snapchat-like features on their apps, so it was only a matter of time before WhatsApp joined them. WhatsApp is now adding a Stories-like feature that allows users to post videos or photos to their status update. The new feature will be called WhatsApp Status, and like Stories, it will allow users to post photos or videos in a timed sequence. The photos or videos will then disappear after 24 hours.

However, WhatsApp Status offers more than posting timed photos and videos. You can share GIFs to your status and post videos that are up to 45 seconds long — quite a difference from other Stories features that only allow 10 seconds of video. As with the rest of WhatsApp, all Status updates have end-to-end encryption, so no need to worry about the privacy of your content. In addition to that, all Status updates will only be shared with your contacts.

How to Use WhatsApp Status
Make sure that your WhatsApp app is updated to the latest version. If you’re using the latest version, you’ll see a Status bar at the top of the screen. You can add a Status update by clicking the “+” button at the bottom of the screen. You can choose a photo, video, or GIF from your gallery, or else take a new photo or video. Your Status update will then appear in the Status bar, and you’ll be able to see how many people view it. The privacy of your Status update can also be adjusted, and your contacts can reply to your update, if desired.
