On the website, you are prompted to enter your personal information. But soon after, you find out that the website had been spoofed — your information has been stolen by cyber criminals. The best way to ensure you’re not falling for cyber criminals’ scams is by using an Anti-Hacking tool. Click here to stay safe online:

Deeplink_Activate-Anti-Hacking
The Anti-Hacking feature blocks malicious websites and warns you about a website’s intentions so that you won’t enter any personal information into it. It will make sure that you never fall prey to phishing attempts. Nonetheless, it’s always good to know when a website is not secure, too, in case you ever happen to click on one. Here are five sure bets that a website is not legitimate.

  1. The URL is Not Correct.

If a website wants your personal information — legitimately — its URL should start with an “https://.” If the website to which you want to navigate doesn’t start this way — but normally, it does — you can bet it’s a fake.

  1. The Website Doesn’t Have a Badge Verification.

On the bottom of a secure website, you will see a “Secure and Verified” badge at the bottom of the website. You can click on this badge for more information. If the information provided doesn’t match up with the website you’re on, you might be on a fraudulent web page.

  1. The Website Doesn’t Have a Lock Icon.

The lock icon — which is on the URL address bar at the top of your browser, usually to the left of the URL — is included on secure websites. Fake websites might not have a lock icon or they might create a fake one. Click on the lock icon to check for more information about the website.

  1. The Website Doesn’t Have a Privacy Policy.

If a website doesn’t have a privacy policy, they also can’t promise the security of your information. This could signal it’s a bogus website, therefore, move on to a legitimate one.

  1. The Website Has an Expired SSL Certification

A website with an expired SSL certification means that the website — and any information you enter into it — is susceptible to attack.

It can be easy to be fooled by a spoofed website that looks and operates like websites you use regularly. However, be sure to be wary — and to use DFNDR’s Anti-Hacking feature — to make sure you don’t give away your private information.

<![CDATA[Coachella’s Site Was Hacked: Is Your Credit Card Info Safe?]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/coachellas-site-hacked-credit-card-info-safe/ Sat, 22 Apr 2017 20:00:06 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=10333 In early March, several thousand Coachella.com accounts were compromised. This has left thousands of people in a panic over whether their bank accounts, payment information, and personal information are safe or not. This data breach leaked names, birthdays, phone numbers, and email addresses. So, to answer the question: your credit card information is likely fine. Lucky enough for the concertgoers, the ticket purchases are a separate entity from Coachella.com. This is a big reason why credit cards were not directly compromised from this hack.

Coachella Account Information for Sale

California State University (at San Bernardino) Professor, Tony Coulson, is a cyber-expert who was interviewed by a local CBS station in Los Angeles. He noted that the users’ information is currently for sale on the dark web for just a few hundred dollars. Hackers can purchase this information and subsequently enter your username into an algorithm that will help crack your bank password by continually guessing it on the website until they get a hit. As a result, it is urgent that you change your bank account information if it mirrors the information you used in your Coachella account.

Additionally, hackers have begun sending out malicious emails, masquerading themselves as Coachella staff. These emails will likely and ironically ask you to change your password to avoid hacking. The hacker will ask for your old account name, old password, and new password. Please be cognizant of the fact that Coachella will never ask for any personal information via email to avoid phishing scandals.

The Issue of Passwords

If you are one of those people who uses the same username and password for everything, from your bank account to your AOL or Gmail account, then you should seriously consider changing your password for everything. If a hacker has access to your username, for example, this can be an easy first step that allows the hacker to compromise your other accounts, including your bank account.

Passwords are not an area you should be slacking in: you should use strong, unique passwords for each account that you have online. If you have trouble remembering all of your various passwords and need some help, consider using a password manager to help secure your accounts.

While you may be safe from the direct hacking of the Coachella website, that does not mean that you are completely exonerated from malicious activity. Be sure to keep a different username and password for each website that you use.

<![CDATA[The Genealogy Site That Makes Stalking Easy]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/genealogy-site-makes-stalking-easy/ Fri, 24 Mar 2017 20:00:08 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=9103 Genealogy and the study of family trees has long been a practice throughout history. Genealogists use oral interviews, historical records, and oftentimes analyze genetics to determine family history and genetic makeup for people who are interested. Although a lot of genealogy is focused on where people have lived, it also involves the study of their employment and economic status, religious beliefs, and other factors that compose daily life.

A New Way to Explore Your Family’s History

A new genealogy website has taken a traditionally expensive experience and made it free for everyone. FamilyTreeNow, which launched in 2014, is headquartered in Roseville, California. It was created by a few veterans of the tech industry. Thanks to them, it is now simpler than ever to log on and discover the history of your family.

Easy, Free Access to Information

FamilyTreeNow has extensive access to historical records, such as census records from 1790 to 1940. They also have birth, death, marriage, divorce, and military records, in addition to records on the living, all available through their website. All of this information can be accessed for free with no limitations or restrictions.

How to Use FamilyTreeNow

On the site, you can use their “family tree builder” to begin creating and tracking your own personal family tree. You can search through all of the records and trace it back to find your ancestors. You are also able to share the family-tree-in-progress with other members of your family, like siblings, cousins, and parents. That way, the process is more fun and collaborative — you can research your family history with the help of your family.

You can use FamilyTreeNow to explore your family’s origins and maybe even find some long lost relatives or extended family you didn’t know you had. Simply search for a family member by name, and the extensive search engine will provide information for certain family members. This information includes their birth year, city, and lists of other potential relatives. The latter makes it easy to find more members to add to your family tree.

Contact New Family Members

Begin your tree with one person and expand it out to all of your living relatives. The library of research provided by FamilyTreeNow will allow you to dive deep into the past. It will even provide addresses and phone numbers for people that you search, which allows you to potentially contact your family members.

<![CDATA[Snapchat Introduces New Snapcodes Update]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/snapchat-introduces-new-snapcodes-update/ Fri, 17 Mar 2017 18:00:37 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=8903 Snapchat recently released a new update to their Snapcodes. Websites now can have custom Snapcodes that will prompt users to go to the site when they take a picture of the image in the Snapchat app. These are now in addition to the original Snapcodes, which add another user as your friend on Snapchat when you view the Snapcode within the app.

The update was released in late January, and is predicted to make it even easier for brands to share their content and products within the Snapchat app itself. Users will no longer have to leave the app interface to view the content, and instead will just need to interact with the Snapcode itself. To make a Snapcode, all a user needs to do is manually enter the URL into the entry field and it will create the link. Users will be able to create a link to any website, no matter the content or if it features an inappropriate topic.

Read More: What Are the Best Snapchat Filters to Use?

In order to create the Snapcode, users can go to “Settings” and select “Snapcodes.” Then, they will select the “Create Snapcode” option and then type in the link to the URL field. Once that is done, they can simply click the “Create” button at the bottom of the screen and personalize the Snapcode with an image. Then, the Snapcode can be shared via Snapchat, text, or by taking a photo, just like with the original Snapcodes.

The original Snapcodes were introduced to the app in January 2015 after Snapchat acquired Scan.me. They originally allowed users to more easily find one another on the app, since the app is lacking a search option for users by their actual names. Instead, the app only allows users to search by username.

This new functionality could help Snapchat compete with Instagram, after launching their Instastory feature last year. Instagram allows companies and individuals to put URLs directly in their stories. And though Snapchat doesn’t yet have that same option, these new QR codes could be their alternative. This new update closely follows a redesign within the app, making the navigation simpler for Android and iOS users after its release on January 22.

All of these new updates to Snapchat are close on the heels of the company’s announcement of Snapchat’s parent company, Snap Inc., filing for a $3 billion IPO with the SEC, with a valuation that could reach $25 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal.

<![CDATA[The Top 10 Sites to Buy and Sell Tickets]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/revitalize-whatsapp-account-whatsapp-cleaner/ Fri, 17 Mar 2017 13:00:49 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=8895 When it comes to buying tickets from a reseller, not all sites are created equal. Some are easy to find, but have whopping brokerage fees that go to the site owners — making it critical to identify the best places to buy. Here are the top 10 online ticket brokers.

  1. Ticket Lodge

Tickets to both concerts and sporting events are easy to find on Ticket Lodge, a site that often sells tickets below face value and at lower prices than Stubhub. Ticket Lodge is an affordable option for those looking to attend a game or concert at a great price.

  1. StubHub

At a 15% brokerage rate, the tickets might be a little more expensive, but the security and customer support that you receive from one of the biggest ticket brokers in the world makes it worth shopping here. They might be a huge company, but they’re still one of the best.

  1. VIP Meet and Greet Tickets

For those looking to purchase VIP tickets, there is no better place than VIP Meet and Greet. Ticket brokers like StubHub and Ticket Lodge often fail to properly label premium tickets, but this site verifies each VIP ticket.

  1. MetroSeats

Similar to Ticket Lodge, MetroSeats has some of the lowest ticket prices available, thanks in part to lower resale fees.

  1. CheapConcertTickets.me

You might not have heard of them before now, but that’s because CheapConcertTickets.me spends almost no money on advertisements. Those savings are passed on to customers, who are rewarded with lower ticket prices for concerts.

  1. FinallyItsYours.com

Another company that hasn’t gotten much publicity receives rave reviews for something other than low costs: upgrades. People who buy here frequently get their seats upgraded — a feature you won’t want to miss!

  1. Lucky Duck Tickets

These tickets tend to be cheaper than other ticket brokers, especially with a promo code. More customers are choosing to purchase tickets here because they are often cheaper than on StubHub.

  1. Tickifieds Direct

A lesser known company, consumers can buy or sell tickets on this site, also at a generally lower cost than StubHub. Events including sports and concerts are available.

  1. Vivid Seats

There is a wide range of opinions on Vivid Seats. Some have had a great experience with it, while others have had problems receiving their tickets on time. Mixed reviews have some wary of utilizing the site, but good deals are abound for concert tickets.

  1. Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster offers a wide range of concert and sporting event tickets at generally reasonable prices. Ticketmaster doesn’t have the same great deals as sites like Ticket Lodge, but it’s still a decent spot to shop.

<![CDATA[Your Guide to Launching the Next Best Website]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/guide-launching-next-best-website/ Wed, 19 Oct 2016 12:23:28 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=4851 There are 644 million active websites online. It can be hard to make yours stick out amidst the madness of the world wide web. It should be a priority for you to attract visitors to your website, but it is just as important for you to cater to the correct audience. This can be a hard balance to maintain. Here are a few steps to take if you want to get started on a new website.

Choose a Unique and Catchy Domain Name
This will be what users type in the URL to access your website. The most common domains are .com, .org, .net, and .edu. They stand for commercial, organization, network, and education. It is important that you match the content of your website with the domain type. For instance, if you are developing your website for sales purposes, you should choose the .com domain.

Install Google Analytics
This app provides statistics about viewing trends on your website. It provides the number of visits, average page viewers a day, aggregate time on site, and much more data that is important to keep track of for the purposes of improving your website. Download for free at the Google Play Store.

Assess the Statistics of Your Website Traffic
Knowing the quantity of visitors over a certain amount of time will help you decide the budget of your web host. Having a larger bandwidth is more expensive, but it is essential if your website attracts a lot of traffic.

Strategically Choose Your Web Hosting
It is vital that you spend a lot of time researching different website hosts to find the cheapest and most efficient one for your purposes. Make sure the host is secure and provides the necessary bandwidth that is suitable for your website. If your website increases in popularity, you will have to purchase more bandwidth. However, this is a necessary investment if you wish to maintain a popular website.

Promote Your Website Through Advertisements
Contact popular search engines and see if you can advertise on their page for a reasonable price. This will give your website much more exposure to users who are unaware of its existence. That being said, it’s important to have a flashy logo and slogan so your brand sticks out in its advertisement.
