This can cause your phone’s performance to drop, making it act as if it has prematurely aged. If your phone storage has recently become too full, then it’s time to free up some space on your device. The first step you should take to remedy this issue is to remove junk files from your phone. Use Quick Cleanup to instantly remove unnecessary files:

If you have a lot of apps on your phone, these apps can quickly bloat from storing all of these unnecessary files. Quick Cleanup is a useful tool that instantly removes all cache, junk files, temporary files, and trash from your device. This will save you time — so that you don’t have to remove these files manually from each app — and free up space on your device.

Step 2: Remove Apps You Don’t Use

If you like to follow app trends and test out the latest apps, odds are, you’ll stop using these apps after a while. If you have old social networking apps, ridesharing apps, games, photo-editing apps, and more that you no longer use, then it’s time to delete them from your phone. If you change your mind and want to redownload an old app that you paid for, you won’t have to pay for the app again; all of your apps are saved to your account. Click here to use App Manager to quickly evaluate the apps on your phone and delete any that you no longer want:

Step 3: Remove Videos, Photos, and Music

Before removing any files, make sure that any photos, podcasts, music files, or videos that you want to keep are backed up to another location. You may want to backup these files to your PC, laptop, or an external hard drive. Now, evaluate the media files on your device: are you actually using all of these files? Photos, videos, and music can take up a lot of space on your device. Choose a select number of these files to keep on your device — if you regularly use them — and delete the rest. You don’t really need to keep HD photos from your recent trip abroad, videos of your friends goofing off, or half of your music library on your phone. If you still want access to these files, though, store them in the cloud.

Some people have truly mastered the phone’s capabilities, taking pictures that look like they are of professional quality. But taking photos at nighttime can often be difficult, and can yield a lot of duplicate photos. After you’ve taken your holiday shots, use the Duplicate Photos feature to remove repeated photos:

Even if you’re just an amateur photographer, you can still take great pictures this Fourth of July that you’ll be proud to post on Facebook or Instagram. Here are five photography tips that will make sure you get great looking photos every time.

  1. Invest in a Tripod or Mobile Stand

You only get one chance to snap a shot of particularly beautiful fireworks, and even the most sophisticated apps don’t stop your hands from shaking. Instead, steady your phone with a tripod or mobile stand. In a pinch, even a selfie stick will work.

  1. Turn Off Your Flash

Most phone cameras are automatically set to flash mode. Since you’re taking photos in the dark, the flash will illuminate things that you don’t want to be illuminated. A flash will underexpose the shot, meaning that the fireworks will be too dark to see well.

  1. Don’t Use the Digital Zoom

Oftentimes, you use the digital zoom so you can get a better shot of scenes that are far away from you. But don’t use this feature on the Fourth of July — your photo will end up looking granular and will lose clarity.

  1. Use a Long Exposure

If the shutter of your phone camera is open for longer, you’ll end up getting a better light exposure than you would otherwise. A long exposure of somewhere around 10 seconds before the fireworks explode can get you the best pictures. Try a third-party app like A Better Camera for Android. This app is easy to use, so you’ll be able to handle it quickly. Pairing the long exposure app with the tripod or selfie stick is necessary, too; you won’t be able to keep your hand still for that length of time.

  1. Turn Off Your Auto Mode

Your phone might try to help you take a great picture, but especially at night, it doesn’t know what it’s doing. To get better details in your shots, disable the auto mode, and with it, quick shutter speeds.

<![CDATA[3 Ways to Make the Most Out of Gmail on Your Android]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/3-ways-make-gmail-android/ Fri, 16 Sep 2016 20:58:40 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=3785 Millions of Android users rely on the Gmail app to easily check email on their smartphones. Despite the intuitive interface of this popular mobile app, there are some hidden features you might not be aware of. Get the most out of your Gmail experience with these quick and helpful tips.

Merge Your Inboxes

If you have multiple email accounts, you can consolidate them into one inbox. This is particularly helpful if you want to look at your personal and work emails in the same place. To merge your inboxes, go to the main menu, tap your username and select Add account from the drop-down menu below your avatar. Once you have followed the instructions, an “All Inboxes” tab should appear, allowing you to view the accounts you’ve added in a unified inbox.

Insert Attachments From Google Drive

Want to attach a file in an email that isn’t saved on your phone? Follow these steps and you can easily share photos, videos, documents and more with the touch of a button. First, download the Google Drive app to your Android phone. Then compose an email in your Gmail app. Tap the paperclip icon at the top right, then select “Insert From Drive.”

Once you select the document that you want to attach, there are several sharing options to choose from. If you are sending the email to someone with a Gmail account, select “Anyone With the Link.” If the person has a Gmail account, select “Recipients of this Email.”

Free Up Space on Your Phone

There is no reason to have all of your emails taking up precious space on your smartphone. You can control how much email is saved and synced to your device. To edit your preferences, go to the main menu and open the settings page. Tap your account name, then choose either “Days of Email to Sync” or “Manage Labels.”

On most Android devices, you will have the option to limit the amount of stored emails and decrease the number of days of emails to sync. And here’s the great news: any email that has been removed from your phone will still be available through the search option.

<![CDATA[How to Speed Up Your Internet Connection]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/speed-internet-connection/ Wed, 10 Aug 2016 03:00:56 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=701 A slow internet connection makes the simple act of checking an email feel like an ordeal. Pick up the pace! Follow these tips to increase your speed, up your megabytes per second, and get back to binge-watching Game of Thrones that much faster.

Try a Different Web Browser

Internet Explorer may be a well-known name, but it can be a bit of a resource hog. Technology has come a long way since the early days of the internet. With so much more to load nowadays, look for other web browsers that use less memory, like Google Chrome, or that take advantage of compression technology to help slow internet connections, like Opera.

Whittle Down the Extras

Plugins and add-ons make web browsing more fun but they also tack on page load time. Get rid of the skins, themes, and any extensions you are no longer using. Disabling these programs varies from browser to browser but it’s worth it.

Install PSafe Total Windows

Working, shopping, and playing games online can come at a price. Don’t leave your web browsing experience unprotected. Install PSafe Total Windows to keep your computer free of viruses and malware. Scan your computer and make sure that unwanted and malicious programs aren’t slowing it down.

Consider a VPN

A virtual private network could be the answer if your internet speed is anything but fast. If you spend a lot of time online, then your Internet Service Provider (ISP) could be using traffic shaping to decrease your internet speed for some of your online activities. A VPN encrypts your data so your ISP can’t tell what you are doing and can help you experience balanced speed in all your web browsing activities.

Tab Overload

Do you keep tons of tabs open? If so, you need to tone it down. Too many tabs equals a lot of resources and a slower system especially for websites that automatically refresh, like Twitter and Facebook. Keep the tabs to a minimum to receive an internet boost.

Broadband Draining Programs

Some programs just want it all. If you have multiple programs running in the background and opening on startup, consider if it is really necessary. PSafe Total Windows is necessary, but that torrent client and other similar resource hogs have got to go.

Speed up Your Internet

Help your internet work for you. Follow the tips above to receive a better connection every time. Trust PSafe Total Windows to help your laptop or desktop feel like new again.
