It will kick off the summer traveling season, particularly for air travel. With this will come longer wait times, because many summer travelers are infrequent or first-time flyers — meaning that they’re typically less familiar with the latest air travel rules and procedures. If you’re looking for a way to improve your travel experience this Memorial Day, check out the following apps to get you through the airport faster and make your flight more pleasant.

 1. TripIt: Travel Organizer

This is a top-rated, free app from the Play store that will create a travel schedule for any of your upcoming trips. This well-designed app will organize all of your travel information in one place so that your travel experience is as stress-free as possible. Through TripIt, you’ll be able to access all of your plans from any device, even if your device is offline. You can upgrade to TripIt Pro for real-time flight information and alerts, tips and tricks, assistance with changing a flight, and more.

You can also apply for TSA Pre-check through the app.

 1. Mobile Passport

This free app allows you to skip the line for customs and submit your passport and customs declaration information through the app. This app has been authorized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and is usable at more than 20 airports nationwide.

 1. FLIO – The Global Airport App

<![CDATA[5 Apps to Help You Prepare for Summer Vacation]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/5-best-apps-prepare-summer-vacation/ Wed, 10 May 2017 19:17:12 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=10919 These perfect for summer apps have everything you need to make the most of your break. If you want the best travel apps, you don’t have to look anywhere else but here.

To get your phone ready for the summer, first turn to App Manager. It’s a function built inside of your PSafe DFNDR app. It will help you clean out applications you no longer use with a click of the button so you can install travel apps you’ll actually use. Tap on the button below to learn more:

Money-Saving Apps

Of course, you can’t have a great summer vacation without a road trip or two in there.

GasBuddy will save you time and money so you have more of both during your summer vacation. Any travel apps that will let you know the prices of gas stations in your area are a “win.” It’s a great way to plan ahead a little and help out your wallet.

Google Maps

It’s still indispensable. For turn-by-turn directions, it beats out the rest of the travel apps. Google Maps offers more than just directions. It will let you know if you are on the fastest route, and give you options to switch if you don’t want to arrive faster than planned, as well as change your route if there’s a slow down or accident ahead. If you want to avoid paying for toll roads too, just click on “options’ to show the route without tolls.

Hotel Apps

You don’t want to stay just anywhere. Make every trip a great one by using a hotel app that saves you money like the Booking.com app. More than hotels, there are apartments and vacation rental deals so you can save no matter where you stay. There are handy maps and even paperless confirmation so you can finally have one less thing to keep track of.

Time Saving Apps

Meet Waze. This handy app lets you see how fast cars are traveling on a given roadway. If there’s congestion, if there’s traffic, or if there’s a horrible backup, you can see what other users have to say about it. If you are traveling somewhere new, this travel app is a must-have, and one you won’t ever want to delete using DFNDR’s App Manager.

Inexpensive Flights and More

When you don’t want to drive there, you can fly on the cheap using the Kayak app. This travel app offers a way to snag inexpensive flight, hotel, or rental car rates. Kayak searches hundreds of sites for the greatest deals so you don’t have to.

Stay organized — and that applies to your phone, too. Make good use of the DFNDR app for more than just keeping your Android cell phone free of viruses and malware. Delete those unused apps with App Manager and really travel light.

<![CDATA[Travel the World with Google Earth for Android]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/travel-world-google-earth-android/ Tue, 20 Sep 2016 18:35:27 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=3856 Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with dolphins in Cancun or meet penguins in Antarctica? Eat pasta in Venice and then noodles in Hong Kong all in the same day? While not physically possible, these dreams can be turned partially into reality with Google Earth.

How it Works
Google Earth allows you to swipe around the globe. The instructions are simple — open up the app, and on the top right corner of the screen tap the search icon. Then type in your destination. If your location is in the US, search by entering the city and then the state. If you’re more of a jetsetter, type in the city and then the country. After you’re done choosing a location, click the “x” on the left of the search box and you should instantly be in your desired spot.

Cool Features
Ever wonder what it would like to be able to roam the streets with the locals? The App has a feature for that. As a user you can use street view, so it really feels like you’re experiencing the destination. Want a guide to lead you through your desired city? The Tour Guide feature will let you discover new and interesting places in your location, pointing out great places to eat or historical landmarks worth taking note of. If one of these landmarks strikes you or you find something interesting while scrolling the streets, you can look through the location’s Wikipedia page or other Google images to learn more.

The best part? The Maps Gallery feature. Maps Gallery displays interesting maps that show what’s happening in the country in real-time. Be alerted of every plane in flight, current weather, or the hiking trail next door. If any of this is confusing, never fear. The app contains its own tutorial to go all over all of the special features to maximize your travel experience.

Make sure your traveling experience is as smooth as possible with Kiper. Kiper, a feature of PSafe Total, will make sure your smartphone is functioning as quickly as possible. In addition, make sure your travels aren’t interrupted by a dead battery by using PowerPro. Safe Travels!

<![CDATA[5 Great Travel Apps For Vacationing in July]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/5-great-travel-apps-vacationing-july/ Wed, 20 Jul 2016 20:55:33 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2274 Stuck at home scrolling through a newsfeed of travel pictures? Tired of watching friends’ countless snapstories of adventures away from home. Well, your Android phone can make your travel dream into a reality. Our favorite travel apps will have you packing your bags in no time.

1. Hipmunk

The Hipmunk app takes flight comparison to a whole new level. Instead of just showing you the cheapest flight, which usually is at an airport three hours away with two layovers, it sorts by its own category, “agony,” which takes accounts for flight duration, layovers and price giving you not only the cheapest option, but the most convenient option too. In addition, Hipmunk will do the same with hotels and show the lodgings with the cheapest rate and best location in terms of food, landmarks, nightlife and more.

2. Sky Scanner

Undecided on which beautiful destination you should visit first? Sky Scanner is the perfect app for that. By clicking the ‘Everywhere’ option, Sky Scanner will list all of the best deals in flights to countries around the world. Got a location in mind, but unsure when to go? Sky Scanner has a calendar option that highlights the best days and months to travel so you know you are getting the best deal around.

3. HERE Maps

Traveling around any busy city can be tricky and expensive. HERE Maps makes the transition seamless. For those who prefer driving, HERE map offers turn-by-turn voice guidance, which will also inform you of any specific speed limit restrictions. Lots of traffic? HERE Maps includes public transit routes for over 900 cities, including timetables and full directions from start to end. Scared of your Data bill? Not an issue, as app has maps available to download, so offline use is possible and easy.

4. Expensify

Scared you’ll overspend on vacation? Expensify makes keeping track of all expenses doable to keep your attention on what matters most, the sites. Expensify is quick and easy, just take a picture of each receipt, and the app will record the expense. Lost the receipt? Expensify can import your credit card transactions. In addition, the app will also send alerts if your trip is becoming too pricy, to make sure you stay on budget and sane.

5. Gas Buddy

If road tripping is more your style, Gas Buddy is a must have. Even with today’s lower gas prices, gas can still be one of the biggest expenses in your trip, and saving 20 cents a gallon can mean more money in your pocket to enjoy your destination. With one tap you can find the cheapest gas station near you. But it gets better. Gas Buddy rewards you for inputting the price of any gas station you see on your trip. By reporting gas prices you can earn rewards and even win $100 dollars in gas credit!

Hasta La Vista!

Now there is no excuse not to book that hotel. Now you’ll have the snapstory that everyone is jealous of.
