Further indulge in your love of football with these top-rated ESPN apps. That way, you’ll be sure to catch every second of football season — and play out your football fantasies, too.

The ESPN App
This app is one of the most popular sports apps in the Play store for a reason. It’s free to download and has a lot to offer for all major sports. Receive live news updates, current scores, alerts, and video highlights of NFL and college football games. You can also listen to live national and regional games — a great option if you have to work late on a Monday night or take a long weekend road trip.

In addition, when you get the ESPN app on your Android TV, you can use WatchESPN to stream many live games, including Monday Night Football and college football games. However, in order to watch all football games during the season, you will need to purchase a cable or internet package through certain specific service providers.

The ESPN Fantasy Sports App
Why not participate in a fantasy league this football season? This app is also free to download from the Play store. As the name suggests, the app includes a variety of fantasy sports in addition to football such as baseball, hockey, and basketball. You can create your own fantasy football league to play with friends or work colleagues, or join an existing league. Draft, add, and trade players on your team, and consult app-provided player rankings and projections when making your moves. You can even compare your fantasy team to your favorite real-life teams and receive notifications on the latest scores and news.

Protect Your Device
Unfortunately, fraudulent and malicious apps are more common than you might think. These apps tend to mimic popular apps available in the Play store in name and appearance, but once you download them they infect your device with malware or steal your personal information. A malicious app can be downloaded thousands of times before Google is able to remove it. Protect your device by downloading PSafe Total to ensure that your Android is protected against security threats and malware 24/7. In addition to protecting your device against malicious threats, PSafe Total offers an optimization tool that will clear unnecessary files from your device and make sure it is running at an efficient speed.

<![CDATA[You Can Stream the Olympics Live on your Android]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/can-stream-olympics-live-android/ Mon, 15 Aug 2016 22:39:35 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2953 The 2016 Olympic Games began in Rio de Janeiro on August 5. We know you’re pumped. But you can’t stop living your life until the games end on August 21.

Luckily, the NBC Sports app streams all of the Olympics coverage from NBC, MSNBC, and other channels. You can stream popular sporting events live from your smartphone, as well as highlights and full-event replays. The app’s only downside is limited to people who have cut the cable cord: you need a cable provider log-in to stream most of the content available. If you’ve unsubscribed from cable, you’ll need to borrow log-in credentials from a family member or friend. Once you’ve done that, navigate back to this page for an Olympic-style play-by-play of how to download and use the NBC Sports app on your phone.

Downloading the App

  1. Search for the “NBC Sports” app in the Google Play store.
  2. Download the app.
  3. Once the app is downloaded, open it on your phone.
  4. Once opened, the app will prompt you to enter the username and password you use with your cable provider.
  5. Enter your credentials, and you’re in!
  6. If you want to watch the events without sound, you can click the “CC” — or closed captioning — icon in the player control to watch events silently.

Navigating the App

The NBC Sports app has several levels of content. On top, you can scroll through live and upcoming events. Simply click on the event you want to stream. In addition to these live events, the app offers highlights and full-event replays from competitions that took place earlier in the day or week.

If you only follow certain competitions, you can scroll down to icons of your favorite sports. Say you want to follow gymnastics. First, click on the green gymnastics icon. This icon will navigate you to a gymnastics page that plays live events, lists the schedule for upcoming gymnastics events, and provides replays of events you missed. For popular events, each sports page also includes interviews and features about the athletes competing.

If you want to make sure your NBC Sports app is able to play up-to-the-minute Olympics coverage, download PSafe Total. Its Internet Booster function closes applications running in your phone’s background to speed up your Internet playback, give you browsing without lag time, and enabling you to minimize your data usage.
