But these celebrities’ private photos weren’t even sent to personal acquaintances who then shared the images without permission; these celebrity photos were hacked. Hacking into someone’s personal image gallery is easy, which is why it’s so important to store your most private photos in Private Gallery. Private Gallery lets you protect sensitive photos with a second password. Additionally, once you move photos to Private Gallery, they are removed from your normal photo app for extra protection. Click here to protect your photos from prying eyes:

But how is it that it’s so simple for hackers to gain access to your private photos? Here, we’ll talk about three common ways hackers can retrieve your private photos.

Hacking Email

If you send personal photos through email, it’s easy for hackers to gain access to them. Some hackers can figure out how to get into your personal email by trying random combinations of your name — or if you’ve sent them an email — using that with the forgotten password helper. If you have a common password, then, it isn’t hard for them to gain access.

Using a Cell Provider

Common providers like AT&T and Verizon can give hackers a way to access your phone. If a hacker knows your phone number, he or she can then use the “Forgot My Password” feature on the cell provider’s website to break your password. Also, if you have an obvious PIN number, the hackers can break into it. Finally, if you have simple security question answers, they can also unlock your password quite easily.

Spoofing

If you’re sending private photos to someone, beware. It can be easy for hackers to “spoof” — or replicate — a cellphone number of the person to whom you want to send the photos. There are a number of online services and Caller ID apps that let hackers spoof another person’s phone number and operate as if they are the person to whom you intended to send the photos.

You don’t want to let any photos you wouldn’t want your mother to see stay unprotected on your phone. Instead, put them into a password-protected Private Gallery to keep them to yourself.

<![CDATA[How to Use WhatsApp’s Version of Snapchat]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/use-whatsapps-version-snapchat/ Sun, 02 Apr 2017 16:00:40 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=9448 WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. It offers end-to-end encryption, in addition to all of the in-demand messaging features such as video-sharing, GIFs, emojis, stickers, and more. However, WhatsApp can collect a lot of data very quickly — because of all of these features — which can cause the app to bloat and take up more space on your phone.

That’s why it’s important to use dfndr’s WhatsApp Cleaner regularly to clean out the app by discarding old and unwanted files. Doing so will help to free up space on your phone for new photos, apps, and more. WhatsApp Cleaner will even show you exactly how much space you can save by removing old files. You can choose which files, and from which date, you want to remove. That way, you won’t delete any old files that you want to keep on the app. Click here to start removing old WhatsApp files:

WhatsApp Status
Facebook and Instagram have already introduced Snapchat-like features on their apps, so it was only a matter of time before WhatsApp joined them. WhatsApp is now adding a Stories-like feature that allows users to post videos or photos to their status update. The new feature will be called WhatsApp Status, and like Stories, it will allow users to post photos or videos in a timed sequence. The photos or videos will then disappear after 24 hours.

However, WhatsApp Status offers more than posting timed photos and videos. You can share GIFs to your status and post videos that are up to 45 seconds long — quite a difference from other Stories features that only allow 10 seconds of video. As with the rest of WhatsApp, all Status updates have end-to-end encryption, so no need to worry about the privacy of your content. In addition to that, all Status updates will only be shared with your contacts.

How to Use WhatsApp Status
Make sure that your WhatsApp app is updated to the latest version. If you’re using the latest version, you’ll see a Status bar at the top of the screen. You can add a Status update by clicking the “+” button at the bottom of the screen. You can choose a photo, video, or GIF from your gallery, or else take a new photo or video. Your Status update will then appear in the Status bar, and you’ll be able to see how many people view it. The privacy of your Status update can also be adjusted, and your contacts can reply to your update, if desired.

<![CDATA[Quality Smartphone Photo Editing Apps You Can Get for Free]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/quality-smartphone-photo-editing-apps-can-get-free/ Thu, 05 Jan 2017 22:30:51 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=6788 Never has photo taking been so easy and sharing so prolific. From Instagram to Facebook to Flickr and Shutterfly, capturing moments from our daily lives and then sharing it with friends and family is just par for the course in our hyper-connected, social media driven lives. And yet, as many photos as we take, no one wants to post a mediocre photo. These days even your average Jane or Joe shooting with an Android still wants to present a MoMA ready work of art, whether they’re traveling in Thailand or simply walking their dog. The good news is, you can edit your pics like the pros without breaking bank.

Snapseed

One customer review names this app “A Must-Have App for All Serious Photographers.” For some, adding a quick Instagram filter will suffice to make a good photo. But if you’re the type who has a vision in mind, and you prefer to tweak and perfect your image, then go with a more professional app like Snapseed. It offers a great new user interface, the ability to retouch flaws with incredible accuracy, as well as the usual editorial tools, like options to modify contrast, highlights, brightness, and levels of saturation.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Using the renown Adobe Photoshop Technology for its toolbox and winner of the 2015 Professional Photographer Hot One Awards in the Photo App category, Lightroom makes professional edits easy with just one-touch adjustments. And if these quick fixes are not enough, you have the option to fine tune your work with more precision by selecting the advanced tools feature. As a bonus, once you’ve played with the app and feel you’ve developed a consistent set of go-to edits, the app makes it easy to save these adjustments as a preference. Later on, you can easily apply these pre-set changes to new photos you upload.

Airbrush

If you’re more of a selfie or portrait photographer, this app is worth a try. Much like the name implies, it’s adept at the kind of touch ups most glamour magazines are known for. To create smooth, flawless skin and an impossible inner glow, choose from the app’s selection of blemish removers and teeth whiteners. For contouring, there are “slimming” tools, and you can even play with a range of radiance features to add luster to your eyes, or enhance your natural coloration with blush and mascara applications. In addition to these tools, Airbrush also offers a few minor editing options, such as cropping, and if you still aren’t sold, the app even lets you apply some of these edits before you even snap your pic.

<![CDATA[The Best Photo Storage Apps for Your Device]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/best-photo-storage-apps-device/ Wed, 19 Oct 2016 11:24:21 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=4875 Photos and videos can suck up huge amounts of your storage space, leaving you without enough room for new apps. Limited storage space makes your entire system slow to a crawl. Luckily, there are plenty of cloud apps that let you store your photos away from your phone, freeing up extra room on your device. Here are three of our favorites.

Amazon Photos
With this app, you’ll have unlimited space to store your photos. This app also offers a feature that lets you automatically sync your photos to your Amazon Cloud drive. The app works really well unless you try and download a larger image, at which time the Cloud drive will automatically make the picture smaller. Although, most phone cameras capture smaller images, some Android cameras can capture large megapixel pictures, so this might not be the app for you. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, the Cloud Drive Photos is free to use. If you’re not, you can buy the app and cloud storage for $11.99 per year.

Google Photos
Google Photos is an editing app that helps you store and sort your photos on cloud storage. Although the app is already the default photo editing app on most Android phones, it’s also a good app to store and edit your photos. In addition to offering cloud sorting and automatic sync, the free Google Photos app lets you work with automatic editing features and search your photos using an image analysis.

Uploadr
The mobile app paired with the popular photo sharing community Flickr works so well because you can set it to automatically upload your photos in bulk. Flickr gives you tons of free cloud storage, too — 1TB to be exact, which stores more than 300,000 average-sized photos. To scroll through and share your photos, Flickr has the technology down pat. While the phone uploader is free, you’ll have to pay $5.99 per month to use the uploader for desktops. One problem with Flickr, however, is that it won’t accept RAW files. Plus, Yahoo doesn’t always provide excellent customer service to Flickr users.

Want to make sure you’re using your phone’s memory to its utmost efficiency? Download PSafe Total. PSafe’s Memory Booster feature clears out unneeded clutter from your phone’s memory and storage. With PSafe, you can also optimize your data usage, which also speeds up your phone.

<![CDATA[The Polaroid Swing App is Coming to Android]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/polaroid-swing-app-coming-android/ Fri, 07 Oct 2016 21:14:37 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=4514 You may have grown up using Polaroid instant cameras, or maybe you know of them because they’ve recently come back in style. Polaroid has reinvented themselves for the modern age, and now offers more than a selection of instant cameras. They also offer smart phones, wireless printers, dash cams, tablets, televisions, and apps.

One of their most popular apps, Polaroid Swing, is another way to view your shot — by capturing and viewing it in motion. This essentially turns your images into 3D images. If you ever wanted your photos to “come alive” like those in the magical world of Harry Potter, then this is the app for you.

Read More: The Top 6 Android Apps to Download Just Because

The Polaroid Swing app, which is currently available for iPhones, will soon be available for Android devices through the Play store. Here’s all that you need to know about the app before you download it:

How it Works
Polaroid Swing is similar to other GIF-making apps, like Boomerang, but it sets itself apart in many ways. You begin by capturing a “one-second” photo and choosing a filter. The app can capture up to 60 frames per second, which makes for a smoother animated photo. The photos are then “activated” by moving your phone side to side, or else by moving your finger over the photo. Move your phone to the left to go backwards in time, and right to move time forward. The photo will move according to the speed you move your phone. If you move your phone slowly, for example, the photo will move in slow motion. You can also view these photos on your computer, in the same fashion, but instead of moving your device you move your cursor back and forth over the image. Play around with the app and see which moments look best in this format. This might include images of fireworks, or an incredible dance move.

A positive aspect of the app is that you can easily share your photos on Facebook or other social media platforms. Your friends and family can then view your photos, in motion — no download of the app necessary. It’s another way to capture and view your best memories. It’s in your control, and at whatever speed you choose — the photos will not move unless you’re moving them. Polaroid’s focus on the full experience of an “instant,” combined with the company’s trend-factor, could make this app especially popular among those who grew up with Polaroid cameras. But only time will tell if it can be a true competitor to other GIF-making applications.

<![CDATA[How to Repost a Photo or Video on Instagram]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/repost-photo-video-instagram/ Mon, 04 Jul 2016 13:57:28 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=1901 Ever wonder how people repost photos and videos onto their own Instagram accounts? Ever want to do the same, but not sure how? Well, look no further! Here are a few apps that will let you share other users’ photos and videos with your followers:

1. PhotoRepost

Formerly known as InstaRepost, this free app lets you repost photos and videos in seconds. The photos and videos will appear in a single column on the app, or in a grid view. Once you’ve found the photo/video you want to share, tap “repost” underneath it. You will then be able to place a watermark of the original user’s name in any corner of the picture, and can choose between three transparency levels.

If you’d like to remove the app’s logo from the picture, download the upgraded version. Then, open the photo in Instagram as either a direct repost, or a quote repost (the quote repost will include the original photo/video’s caption while the former will let you write one of your own). Videos, on the other hand, will be downloaded to your camera roll where you can then upload it directly to Instagram.

2. RepostWhiz

Yet another free photo/video sharing app! On RepostWhiz, the photos and videos will again show up in a single column or grid view. Search for the specific photo/video you want to share, or find a photo/video worth sharing by using likes, hashtags or usernames to search. Once you have selected your photo/video, press “repost” right underneath it. If you’d rather post it later, you can always save it to your camera. All reposts will appear with the app’s name on it.

3. Repost for Instagram

Another free photo/video sharing app—how lucky are we? Open the app, view your feed, and tap on the photo or video you’d like to repost on your own account. The original user’s account, and profile image will appear as a black or white bar on your reposted image. It can be rotated to all four sides, depending on what you like best. Press “Repost” to open, and share the photo or video on your Instagram account. An upgraded, ad-free version is also available.

Sharing Greatness

And there you have it. Simple, no? Just a few quick downloads, and you’re ready to go. Have you used any of these apps before? Let us know your favorites in the comments below!
