Your GPS application may need your location to help you get to where you want to go, but there are countless apps that are out there that also have ill intent. Many apps will track your GPS location in order to track other information about you, or sell that information to various companies who collect and store a vast amount of user data.

Further, malware often differs depending on your location in the world. If you’re traveling — or just want to ensure that your device is protected against the various forms of malware — make sure your device and information is always protected and kept safe by running regular virus scans on your device. DFNDR’s Security Scan feature helps keep your information protected at all times. This feature monitors for threats of all different types, and it scans your device memory and your SD card to make sure that you’re safe at all times. Malware Differs Country to Country

Some areas in the world are less secure than other areas, and that’s something that can leave people at risk if hackers can determine their location. There are also area-specific viruses that will track you if you’re in certain areas, which can be especially scary. Certain types of malware are more common in China and Russia, for example, than in the US. Malware can target you more efficiently in other areas if your location is determined and shared amongst other applications and websites. Network security also varies country to country. Countries that take cybersecurity less seriously are more prone to serious forms of malware.

No Global Standard for Financial Security

Another major concern is that banks in different countries have different methods and security measures in place to protect your money and financial information — and it isn’t always the most secure methods, in some cases. Often, trojan viruses and malware are utilized to bypass these measures.

There have been times when cybercriminals were able to bypass security, such as the recent robberies of a few major European banks. ATM malware and bank robberies are getting more sophisticated and tech-friendly. For major robberies, criminals today will often hack into a bank’s system through malware and discreetly monitor a bank’s day-to-day activities before they rob them.

<![CDATA[See Any Location Instantly and in Real-Time with uCiC]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/see-location-instantly-real-time-ucic/ Fri, 16 Sep 2016 19:54:36 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=3734 You want to go out to a bar or club, but you can’t decide on where to go. You don’t want to choose a place that is empty, but you also don’t want it to be too crowded or have the wrong “vibe.” This is where uCiC comes in. uCiC comes from “you see, I see.” In other words, it is a social app that allows users to trade images of specific locations, in real-time, so that you can see what is going on at that location before you even leave your home.

This is a great way to figure out which places you want to go to, especially if you’re trying to decide between clubs that are across town. Hopefully, too, it’ll help you to make the right decision the first time, and not spend extra money on an Uber across town to see if another club is better than the one you were just at.

How uCiC Works

Once you make an account, you can connect with other users on the app who are already at the club or event you might want to go to, and ask them for an image request of what the place is currently like. However, uCiC isn’t just for a night out. It is a great app to use if you have a specific question about a place but aren’t able to find the information you need.

For example, if you already made it home but realized that you forgot your keys at a coffee shop, you can post a question in the app about it. If someone is passing by that shop, or already there, they can notify you that they found your missing keys by sending you a photo of them.

Feel free to be creative with what you use the app for. Their website advertises a range of uses, from asking others about wait times or a line at a restaurant, to help with homework, to whether or not a toy store has an item you’re looking for. You’ll never wait more than a few minutes for a response to a question, which is a nice perk.

After users receive your question and respond to it with a photo or video, you can send him or her “good karma,” which is basically “liking” his or her response, or a thank you. This “good karma” then helps the person who answered your question to ask his or her own question. Lastly: you can even post your uCiC photos on social media, to encourage your friends to meet you wherever you are.
