In addition to the Note 7 and its fire-catching battery, Samsung also had a washing machine that exploded while in use. Samsung’s problems remind us that the next evolution in design could be a success or fail.

Luckily reviewers and users of the new Samsung Galaxy S8 are pleased with the iteration of the Galaxy, so Samsung’s former setbacks are no reason not to give it a chance.

Design

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 has a sleek design that is both slimmer and longer than most smartphones. The front of the phone is made entirely of glass — there is no longer any “home” panel, and the fingerprint reader has been moved to the back of the phone. Other popular features are its ultra-wide display, its high-level screen revolution, and its display’s high color contrast. Plus, the phone is amazingly durable.

Operating System

The S8 Galaxy runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. If you’re not familiar with the new operating system, it offers several useful features, including the functionality of running two apps at one time. The S8 also runs Edge software, which lets users shortcut links to contacts and apps.

Special Features

A popular feature of the S8 Samsung is its new and improved megapixel camera. The camera is designed to help you take pictures in low light, zoom in and out with better results, and make sure your photos don’t blur.

If you’re worried about your phone’s security (which, of course, you should be), the new Samsung Galaxy S8 has a new biometric ID: you can enable iris scanning or facial recognition so you’re the only one able to unlock your phone.

Even though Samsung’s reputation has been tarnished in the last few years, the new Samsung Galaxy phone should help them rebuild users’ trust. With cool new features, a sleek design, and an improved functionality, the new Samsung Galaxy S8 is certainly worth a test drive.

<![CDATA[Samsung Offers Discount for S8 to All Note 7 Owners]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/samsung-offers-discount-s8-note-7-owners/ Mon, 21 Nov 2016 20:42:08 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=5905 Many Galaxy Note 7 users have been reluctant to hand over their phone, burning battery issue or not. While it may seem a little funny, it’s easy to see why: there are no other Samsung phones that offer the exact same functionality.

Unfortunately, it could be awhile before we see something from Samsung that lines up to its Note 7 (minus the hazardous battery, of course). The latest rumor is that Note 7 users could snag the Galaxy S8 for free.

The Note 7 was a phenomenal phablet for many reasons. The innovative iris scanner added sci-fi fun with a nice dose of security. The size was ideal, users enjoyed the dual-lens camera, and the screen was wonderfully crisp and clear.

For those Note 7 owners mourning the loss of their phablet, it’s possible that Samsung may just help take the edge off with a zero cost Samsung Galaxy S8.

It’s no secret that Note 7 owners were displeased. It’s a hassle just to deal with the setup of a new phone, getting all of your favorite Android apps onto it, connecting social networks, and getting used to a different layout. Learning that your phone was personally dangerous — well — that was a lot for some previous Note 7 owners to take.

Samsung is suffering for it. Sales are down and people are mad. Dissatisfied customers cite a lack of compensation offers and are threatening to sue. Could this be Samsung’s effort to please the masses? It’s no surprise that Samsung might be thinking of offering alternative compensation. It could help placate their frustrated users and win them over again.

Damage Control

It might be some time before we learn whether or not Note 7 owners will get a free Galaxy S8. The new device won’t be released until February 2017. This time around, the battery may be supplied by another brand.

Whether or not you were affected by the Note 7 recall, you can get your current cell phone battery in shape with PowerPRO. Install PowerPRO and learn what apps are draining your battery — and snag more than a few tips to keep it running longer.
