You may browse Google or Yelp businesses and ratings, or you may ask a friend, colleague, or family member for a recommendation. You may already use Facebook to review different businesses, and consider the recommendations listed when choosing somewhere to eat. Facebook has now made this process easier and faster, by taking out additional steps so that you can do everything through the app or site.

To take it further, Facebook has also added the ability to order food, purchase movie or event tickets, and make appointments. This is only the beginning: Facebook plans to launch many more services over the coming years, so that you no longer have to leave the site to complete a task. Nonetheless, learn more about the services offered and how Facebook recommendations work below.

Send and Receive Facebook Recommendations

Whenever you create, or a Facebook friend creates, a post asking for food or activity recommendations locally or while traveling, you can now send and receive recommendations for that post. These “recommendations” will then be mapped out, organized, and saved so that you can easily locate and review your options.

Order Food on Facebook

You can now order food from a button on a restaurant’s Facebook page. Currently, you can only purchase food from restaurants that use Delivery.com or Slice, but there should be plenty of options available in the future. Who knows, maybe Seamless will soon partner with Facebook to bring you food.

Buy Event Tickets

You already use Facebook to “check in” to various places, or show that you’re attending an event. It’s now easier to share an upcoming concert or movie release with a friend and order tickets. Facebook has partnered with Fandango, Ticketmaster, and Eventbrite so that you can purchase tickets for movies, concerts, and other events from a Facebook page for an event or your local theater.

Make Appointments and Get Quotes

Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms for businesses. With a business Facebook page you can read customer reviews, browse a menu and photos, read news updates, locate contact information, and more. Now you can request or make appointments, or receive a quote on a service through a business’ Facebook page without having to Google their website or look elsewhere. This is a great and easy option for trying out a new spa or hair salon, for example.

<![CDATA[3 Food Ordering Android Apps That Make Food Delivery Easy]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/3-food-ordering-android-apps-make-food-delivery-easy/ Fri, 22 Jul 2016 19:35:41 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2324 Some nights, you just don’t want to cook. And when you want delivery, you want your order to be exactly how you like it — without wrangling with a distracted person on the other end of the line. That’s where food delivery apps come in. These apps make sure that you get your order efficiently — and exactly the way you like them. Here, we review three of our favorite food delivery apps for Android:

1. DoorDash

DoorDash is the hottest food delivery app on the market and it’s not hard to see why. Wait time becomes a non-issue, as the app guarantees to deliver food in less than an hour. The app’s ‘delight’ feature takes into account food quality, delivery quality, and popularity so you can get a sense of how much you will ‘delight’ in your meal.

The ‘delight’ ranking is always evolving, and as the app gets a better sense of your ordering preference it will change the ranking accordingly. Unsure of what you want for dinner? DoorDash lets you narrow down the options by fastest delivery time, cheapest meal, or overall consumer experience. For those living in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, or the 20 other markets DoorDash serves, consider yourself in luck.

2. Seamless

Seamless is a completely free app that makes ordering at local restaurants easy as cake. The app boasts plenty of restaurants and menus, with new ones added each day. The app is very keen on customer satisfaction, and promises that in the unlikely event something is wrong with your order, there are employees there 24/7 willing to fix your problems.

You can pay on the app with either Android Pay, cash, credit card, or PayPal. For those of us who get very excited after ordering food, the app contains a food tracker where you can monitor what part of the delivery process your order is on. Jump on the Seamless train if you live in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.

3. Grubhub

The free Grubhub app uses your location to find the top local restaurants around you in whatever city you’re in. One of the best features is you can search by cuisine. For example, if you’re looking for Mexican food, you can type in “Mexican” and the app will direct you to best Mexican restaurants in your area. The app also saves your orders so you can remember your favorite dishes. Grubhub is available in over 1,000 cities, so it’s useful most places you travel.

If you really want quick delivery, you want to make sure your phone doesn’t give you any problems. That’s why you should download PSafe Total. The free software’s Memory Booster optimizes your data to speed up your phone, while the Internet Booster closes background applications so that your food ordering app can run even more speedily.

<![CDATA[Top 4 Restaurant Apps for Android]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/top-4-restaurant-apps-android/ Fri, 15 Jul 2016 12:11:12 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2171 With so many cuisines and dining styles readily available, choosing a restaurant can be a struggle. Luckily, these apps serve up the best reviews and recommendations to help you choose a restaurant you’ll love.

1. OpenTable: Restaurants Near Me

OpenTable is your one stop shop for browsing, selecting and reserving restaurants. The app makes it simple to search restaurant availabilities by distance, cuisine, price, time or party size. Read through the helpful reviews and ratings of restaurants that fit your criteria, and once you’ve made a selection, reserve a table—it’s that simple. OpenTable also makes it easy to coordinate plans with your friends, by sending invitations and syncing reservations to phone calendars. You’ll even be rewarded for dining out with points that can be used towards future meals.

2. Foursquare— Best City Guide

Having Foursquare is like having your own personal tour guide in your pocket. Gain access to over 60 million expert reviews for restaurants in any city in the world. What makes this app unique it its incredible personalization. Select your favorite cuisines, dishes, and types of restaurants, and Foursquare will custom tailor its results to match your tastes. The social aspect of Foursquare enables you to follow people with similar tastes as you, so their reviews and suggestions appear first. As you read through your list of recommendations, be sure to save all the places you like, so you don’t forget to hit them up later.

3. Eat24 Food Delivery and Takeout

The only thing better than good food is eating good food in your pajamas on the couch. Lazy food lovers everywhere, Eat24 will be your best friend. This app tells you the best restaurants that offer takeout and delivery, and enables you to place and track your order right from your phone. With Yelp reviews and photos built right into the app, choosing a restaurant is surprisingly easy. Pay for your food with Android pay (also built in), or scan your credit cards to be securely stored in the app.

4. Foodspotting

Reading restaurant reviews is helpful when it comes to restaurant service and overall quality, but for particular dishes, isn’t it better to actually see the food? Foodspotting, a visual guide to food, is centered on user uploaded pictures and comments. Instead of being presented with a list of restaurants, users are shown photos of dishes from restaurants near them; think restaurant review app meets Instagram. Community members then “favorite” photos and share “noms” to express dishes they love.

Let’s Eat!

While there are many restaurants to keep your tastebuds happy, there is only one app to keep your Android safe and happy. Download PSafe total for the highest quality antitheft and antivirus protection.

<![CDATA[Infatuation: The New Android App for Foodies]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/infatuation-new-android-app-foodies/ Fri, 08 Jul 2016 12:12:19 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2024 You know the trusted friends you turn to when you want a solid restaurant recommendation? Well, this app brings you the same, reliable recommendations, but with the convenience, and speed you could only get with your Android phone. Are you ready to become infatuated with your dining experience?

What is the Infatuation App?

The Infatuation app was created in 2009 by two guys who wanted to help their friends find not only a good restaurant, but the best restaurant for their specific needs on any particular occasion.

The app makes searching through a vast database of carefully curated reviews both easy, and enjoyable. It provides users with reviews that are entertaining, and useful, so you can find a restaurant that’s perfect for whatever you may need, be it some “Action at the Bar,” or a “Girls’ Night Out.” This is the restaurant guide you’ve been looking for, whether you reside in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, or Denver.

How Does the App Work?

Once you’ve downloaded the Infatuation app, give it access to your GPS location. Once you grant this permission, that’s it! No accounts necessary. No giving out your personal information. No having to worry about security!

To get started, click on any of the tabs located at the bottom of the screen. The “Latest” tab provides a long list of recent restaurant reviews and articles.

The “Nearby” tab shows you the top restaurants at your current location, though you can also move around the map to check out restaurants anywhere, and everywhere.

The “Search” tab lets you browse, and combine results from four different search categories to find the restaurant that best suits your needs. Categories to choose from include: “Perfect For” (example filters: Dinner With The Parents, Outdoor/Patio Situation), “Cuisine,” “Neighborhood,” and more.

The “Hit List” compiles all of your favorite, and future targets. These restaurants will show up in red on the “Nearby” map for your convenience. It’s never been easier to keep track of your favorite restaurants, along with the ones you’ve been dying to try.
