Food Delivery Apps Are on the Rise

These apps were slow to catch on at first. But now, chain restaurants like Dunkin Donuts, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Panera Bread, and Starbucks have hopped on board the food delivery wagon. Even Burger King played with a food delivery app, testing it out in smaller markets to help determine whether or not to roll it out to a larger crowd. McDonald’s offers delivery, too — now that’s fast food.

But chains aren’t the only ones with fast home delivery. Even locally-owned restaurants are joining in — even though it often means restructuring staff in the process. After all, someone has to man the phone, and there needs to be someone to deliver all of those meals so that they arrive hot and fresh, just as though they were ordered in-house.

The restaurants don’t even need to create their own apps. Many restaurants rely on food delivery apps like DoorDash and Postmates. These services enable users to place orders for food from their favorite places, but the apps don’t have a contract with the businesses.

Other apps, like Eat24 and GrubHub, do partner up with restaurants, earning themselves a commission for each order that you place. They help ensure quality control because the restaurant has already opted into the service (and can tweak menu items for delivery accordingly).

Buyer beware, though. There has been the occasional issue of soggy or cold food dropped off by couriers. Others have complained of price changes between restaurant pricing and delivery menu pricing offered by non-partnered delivery apps. It’s something to keep in mind while you are deciding which food delivery app to use.

<![CDATA[Get Your Dinner Delivered Seamlessly with Seamless]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/get-dinner-delivered-seamlessly-seamless/ Tue, 18 Oct 2016 11:15:44 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=4809 These days, there are very few activities that you can’t do through a smartphone app. Whether it is depositing checks or carpooling with friends for a night on the town, nearly all of a day’s routine tasks can be handled with a few taps of a touchscreen. While this concept has been applied to food delivery for some time, a new app, Seamless, is aiming to make online ordering even easier for customers.

Seamless is a food delivery service exclusive to Android users for free download that lets you order from all your favorite local restaurants. Each order gives you full control over what you put into your meal, so there is no need to worry that your specific directions go unheeded; everything you need to craft your ideal lunch or last-minute dinner for two is just a tap and a click away. With menus from your frequented restaurants featured on the app, and with new menus added daily, you’ll never run out of delicacies to sample in your neighborhood.

What really distinguishes Seamless, however, is just how easy it is to order your favorite meals to your apartment or residence. Whether you’re craving sushi rolls, baby back ribs or the best tacos in town, all it takes to order is a text, a snap, or a click. Looking for a certain order of Pad Thai, but unsure where you ordered from? Seamless has a built-in search function that lets you browse nearby eateries to get exactly what you crave.

Best of all, Seamless is accommodating to your needs — depending on how you’d like to pay, you can redeem your Seamless order via PayPal, cash, credit card, or Android Pay when your order arrives. If you’re curious where your order is, the app offers a live order tracker and estimated delivery time, giving you peace of mind while waiting for a piece of pizza. And in the event your order isn’t satisfactory or how you ordered it, Seamless’ staff is more than happy to make things right, and can be contacted 24/7 to address any complaints, mistakes or snafus.

Currently, Seamless is only available in the United States for residents of New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Nevertheless, whenever you need to satisfy your cravings and relieve that hunger itch, trust Seamless to deliver without a hitch.

<![CDATA[3 Food Ordering Android Apps That Make Food Delivery Easy]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/3-food-ordering-android-apps-make-food-delivery-easy/ Fri, 22 Jul 2016 19:35:41 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2324 Some nights, you just don’t want to cook. And when you want delivery, you want your order to be exactly how you like it — without wrangling with a distracted person on the other end of the line. That’s where food delivery apps come in. These apps make sure that you get your order efficiently — and exactly the way you like them. Here, we review three of our favorite food delivery apps for Android:

1. DoorDash

DoorDash is the hottest food delivery app on the market and it’s not hard to see why. Wait time becomes a non-issue, as the app guarantees to deliver food in less than an hour. The app’s ‘delight’ feature takes into account food quality, delivery quality, and popularity so you can get a sense of how much you will ‘delight’ in your meal.

The ‘delight’ ranking is always evolving, and as the app gets a better sense of your ordering preference it will change the ranking accordingly. Unsure of what you want for dinner? DoorDash lets you narrow down the options by fastest delivery time, cheapest meal, or overall consumer experience. For those living in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, or the 20 other markets DoorDash serves, consider yourself in luck.

2. Seamless

Seamless is a completely free app that makes ordering at local restaurants easy as cake. The app boasts plenty of restaurants and menus, with new ones added each day. The app is very keen on customer satisfaction, and promises that in the unlikely event something is wrong with your order, there are employees there 24/7 willing to fix your problems.

You can pay on the app with either Android Pay, cash, credit card, or PayPal. For those of us who get very excited after ordering food, the app contains a food tracker where you can monitor what part of the delivery process your order is on. Jump on the Seamless train if you live in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.

3. Grubhub

The free Grubhub app uses your location to find the top local restaurants around you in whatever city you’re in. One of the best features is you can search by cuisine. For example, if you’re looking for Mexican food, you can type in “Mexican” and the app will direct you to best Mexican restaurants in your area. The app also saves your orders so you can remember your favorite dishes. Grubhub is available in over 1,000 cities, so it’s useful most places you travel.

If you really want quick delivery, you want to make sure your phone doesn’t give you any problems. That’s why you should download PSafe Total. The free software’s Memory Booster optimizes your data to speed up your phone, while the Internet Booster closes background applications so that your food ordering app can run even more speedily.
