If you’re someone who would rather get rid of autocorrect all together, here is how you can turn it off across multiple devices.

iPhone
If you’re tired of autocorrect on your iPhone changing things for you, it’s very easy to turn off.

 1. Go into Settings on your iPhone or your iPad.
 2. Select “General,” which is a part of the third grouping (below Do Not Disturb).
 3. Scroll down to find Keyboard, which is below the “Date & Time” option.
 4. Press the slider to right of “Auto-Correction.”

Android Devices
If you have the Google Keyboard, which the majority of Android devices do, this is a very quick fix.

 1. Navigate to your Android device’s Settings menu.
 2. Select “Language & input,” which is near the “Accounts” menu item.
 3. Find the “Google Keyboard” entry and select it.
 4. Towards the bottom of the screen, select “Text correction.”

Windows 10
Windows has gotten into the autocorrect game with the addition of the feature in Windows 10. As with the other devices/operating systems above, however, it can easily be disabled.

 1. Press the Windows key and the letter I at the same time to open the Settings app.
 2. Click on Devices, and then on the left hand side of the screen, click “Typing.”
 3. On the right, click the slider below “Autocorrect misspelled words.”

Apple Computers
Apple’s auto correct isn’t only for its iDevices — it is enabled on their laptops and desktops as well. To turn off the feature…

 1. Within the Apple Menu, go to System Preferences.
 2. Select “Keyboard.”
 3. Click the Text tab, and then uncheck “Correct spelling automatically.”

<![CDATA[Here are the Shortcomings of the Apple Watch]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/shortcomings-apple-watch/ Fri, 14 Oct 2016 13:18:07 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=4684 When it comes to the Apple Watch, is there anyone who wasn’t interested in it? But did the Apple Watch live up to its expectations? Did it become a must-have fitness accessory? Before you make the decision to splurge on this pricey piece of technology, you should be aware of its shortcomings.

iPhone Dependence
For all of its technology, the Apple Watch is still dependent on the iPhone. Network carriers want a watch version that will be able to be connected to data networks that aren’t iPhone. For now, the watch has to be synced with an iPhone in order to track location and for the majority of downloading purposes. For anyone without an iPhone, it’s basically an expensive pedometer you can use to check the time. Why have a smartwatch if it means you still have to carry your cell phone around all the time? The excellent Maps feature is unfortunately only possible with a paired iPhone, a downside for fitness enthusiasts like runners and cyclists.

Clunky
The iPhone, and just about all the other Apple products, are sleek, shiny, and have a thin profile to match. The Apple Watch, however, is anything but. When it’s switched off, it’s hard to tell that this is a unique piece of technology. It’s chunkier than expected and kind of loses that special something.

Processor Problems
With all the emphasis on the joys of having a computer on your wrist, the Apple Watch lacks the processing power to do it all. Performance was such an issue that some Apple watch wearers stopped bothering with apps. Now that Apple upgraded OS to Watch OS 2, it looks as though better days could be in store for its users. Performance, however, is still not quite up to par.

Price
Beginning at $349, the prices only go up from there. With its current dependence on the iPhone, it’s lack of ability to switch to different network carriers, and its chunkier size, it remains to be seen if the latest version of the Apple Watch will fix these issues and gain the love of consumers.

<![CDATA[Four Features Androids Have That iPhones Lack]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/four-features-androids-iphones-lack/ Tue, 06 Sep 2016 20:48:15 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=3458 In the age-old debate over whether the Android or the iPhone is a better phone, it is common knowledge that Android is the winner. Why? Because of these four awesome features that aren’t accessible on Apple Products.

Default Apps

Is your iPhone truly ever you own? You can’t make any changes to the default apps that come with every iOS platform. Mail, Calendar, and Safari are permanent fixtures, no matter how little you use them and how much space they take up. For those of us who prefer Google Maps or WhatsApp, this can be an annoying space waster that shouldn’t exist. This is not the case on Android. Every Android user has the power to only use the Apps they want, and all that extra space can be used for things that are important to you.

Deleting Applications

You’ve decided to switch from Spotify to SoundCloud and you no longer need the Spotify app on your phone. When you try to delete this app on an iPhone, all of your applications start to shake, and once the app is deleted they reconfigure in a new order. The simple question here is: Why? Why is this necessary? If you’re used to your WhatsApp on the top of your second page, why when you delete an unrelated app does it move to a different screen? This kink does not make sense and seems to have no practical value. It’s clear to see why Android does not have this feature.

Sharing

This feature is mostly for those using tablets. These technological devices more than ever are being shared in office spaces, schools, and homes. Android makes these situations easy — it allows multiple user accounts on one device so that each person who uses it can personalize it to their own needs. This allows for effortless transition between departments as well as subjects. Apple, for their own reason, does not allow this feature, and one can only imagine it’s due to financial motives, as it means everyone needs their own device.

Control Station

Logging into your phone and scanning your pages for the app you use the most can be tiresome and inefficient. It’s easy to see why both devices employ a control center mechanism. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t allow users to decide what’s in their control center. You may never use the timer, the bluetooth, or the nighttime screen adjustment, but those are the features you have the quickest access too. Android allows their users the freedom to decide what to put in their own control center.
