Learn more about the feature and how it works.
Unfortunately, certain features and updates don’t arrive on iOS and Android at the same time. This was certainly the case with Facebook’s slideshow feature, which debuted on iOS all the way back in June 2016. According to recent reports, the feature is still in a trial phase for Android. This means that only a select number of Android users currently have access to the slideshow feature on Facebook.
As you may have guessed, the slideshow feature allows Facebook users to turn their photos into a slideshow, and users can even add music. This option could prove immensely popular with graduates of all kinds, who like to create slideshows of their time in high school or college, complete with Vitamin C’s song, “Graduation.” It would also be great for celebrating big life moments, such as having a new baby, celebrating a globe-trotting vacation, or even a fun night out. The feature was designed to be an alternative way for Facebook users to share experiences on Facebook. This could further increase engagement on Facebook, too.

How do you access the slideshow feature?
According to reports, users have been able to access this feature whenever they want to create a post on Facebook. For example, a user can click on the “What’s on your mind?” bar that allows you to make a status update, and access the slideshow from there. In addition to options for including a photo, video, check in, or feeling, users can also include a slideshow. This option appears above the “tag friends” option.
Once you click on the slideshow option, you can then select which images you want to appear in the slideshow from your photo gallery. Then, you’ll create a title, add some music, and add some transitions. That way, your slideshow will be more like a mini-movie than a collection of photos. Once you’re done, you can publish it to Facebook.
However, the slideshow app is more restrictive about which photos you can publish as a slideshow. This was, of course, first revealed in the iOS version of the Facebook app. For example, whenever you take five or more photos over the course of 24 hours, Facebook will ask you if you want to create a slideshow of those photos.
For now, if you don’t have the feature available on Android, you can download a beta version (but this is not recommended). So, you’ll just have to wait for all Android users to receive the update to the Facebook app to get the slideshow feature.
